Partner: MagicalJoey
Litterature piece: Your Dreams Are In The Stars
Update: awarded second place
Winners: Awareness of the Arts Contest
Update: awarded second place
Winners: Awareness of the Arts Contest
Theme: Into the Stars (though it's not a litteral theme, it's open to interpretations)
Concept: writers and visual artists are paired up together and have to come up with a cool piece of illustrated litterature.
If you like to see such pieces, you can join our group CollaborativeMinds
We have special folders for people who don't have a partner (litterature seeking for collaboration and art seeking for collaboration)
Tools
watercolour paper: 300gsm, 100% cotton, hot pressed (though I think I prefer textured paper in the end), A3
watercolours (Senellier)
masking fluid
a little bit of white ink to fix the stars
coloured pencils for the sketch since I hate graphite ^^
Thoughts
I have so many things to say for this one.... *sigh*
First of all I was late, horribly late. Everytime I wanted to work on it something happened. The whole world was against me, including my own body (lost a day I took free to period pain). Past midnight I was finally done, a few hours before the deadline. (Though I think my dear Anita would have allowed me a couple more hours, but I honestly didn't want it). I kept on scaring my partner for more than 2 months, if I was her I think I've already panicked way too many times But I did it!!! I said I will, so I did!!!
I failed the stretching... I didn't wet the kraft tape enough so... it didn't tape one whole side... aaaaand yes the paper did warp a lot =_=. Also my support was someow dirty and I had huge yellow stains on my painting. Luckily half of the picture is a night sky so we don't notice them
I couldn't find my thin brush sooo... their arms got eaten up =_= Also the city skyline is wonky uhuhuhuh..
But you know what guys??? this is my first A3, with TWO characters, both FULL BODY!!! (ok... half of the picture is a poem, BUT STILL GUYS!!!) And it looks straight out of a children's book! I'm so happy, this definitely goes into my professional portfolio
(also, I'm always using the same colours lol)
One last thing, about the characters. The lady is my Moon Lady character and the girl is inspired by me ^^
